The Toronto Civic Handbook is a project that aims to document how we go about being political between elections. The end result will be a guide that’s informative, easy to understand and widely available.
An initial workshop was held at the Academy of the Impossible at 10am on March 17th. Given Toronto’s size, future meetings will be organized across the city to ensure that a diversity of voices and needs are represented. Want to have a workshop in your neighbourhood? Please get in touch!
We’d love to hear about the successes and challenges you’ve had carving out space for your community and advocating for the things you’re passionate about. Perhaps you have experience finding a place to hold a public meeting, giving a deputation, befriending a park or throwing a block party. We’d like you to imagine how a handbook would show others the steps you went through to be able to contribute to your community and your city.
